Oh, 2020… we were not sad to see you go!

That year tested us in ways no one expected. From a global pandemic to personal loss, quarantines, natural disasters, and collective grief—2020 pushed us all to our limits. But within that stillness and struggle, something unexpected happened: we remembered what truly matters.

We remembered the value of connection. Of love. Of family. Of pausing.

As a portrait photographer, I’ve always believed in the importance of documenting people’s stories. But 2020 gave that belief new meaning. In a time when everything felt uncertain, photography became a way to hold on to joy, to milestones, and to togetherness—even when we were physically apart.

While I had fewer sessions due to safety restrictions, every single session from that year felt deeply intentional. Whether it was a family reconnecting after months apart, a small wedding with only immediate family, or a birthday celebrated quietly but joyfully—each session was a reminder that beauty can thrive even in hard seasons.

It’s never easy for me to pick favorites. I love every portrait I create—flawed or polished, candid or posed. But today, I want to share a collection that truly captured the spirit of 2020: my 100 favorite portraits of the year.

These images reflect:

  • Love in its simplest form—couples finding peace in each other’s presence.
  • Joy in the middle of uncertainty—children laughing, running, playing, unbothered by the world’s worries.
  • Strength in motherhood and fatherhood—parents doing their best, holding it all together with grace.
  • The power of stillness—quiet moments at home, eyes full of hope, hearts full of dreams.

In that silence, I also found something for myself: space to reflect, learn, and grow. I used that downtime to sharpen my skills, explore new styles, and reconnect with my creative vision. 2020 became a season of leveling up—not just as a photographer, but as a storyteller and human being.

So here’s to entering the new year cautiously, but relentlessly. With gratitude for what we endured and hope for what lies ahead.

Let us be:

Unbroken.

Unshakeable.

Unstoppable.

Like water.

Thank you to every client who trusted me with your memories in 2020. You gave me purpose during a difficult time, and I’ll always be grateful.

Now, let’s carry those lessons into a brighter year—together.
